Museum of T

Description:  This Studio began with a simple model.   We were then asked to apply the defining factors of "moral" story to broaden the complexity of the initial model.   Once our initial concepts were developed we were given the project site THE MUSEUM OF TOLERANCE in Los Angeles, CA.

Each student was then asked to create their own version of the Museum of Tolerance.  We used the initial development of form to guide the forms within the space, create space, and define space.  Within these defined and developed moments we were asked to develop the function of the spaces, and roughly curate them.

Project Precedents

Topic of Tolerance:

My topic of tolerance was African American Women.   Choosing to focus on the historical discrimination of African American women throughout history, as well as the internal struggles they face today.

I used my initial "moral" story to guide my programming, and divided the space into three sections:

1. Past (dark, and mostly containing content not suitable for children)
2. Present (Light, and mostly containing content suitable for children)
3. Future (Containing both dark and light elements, but suitable for whole families)
